Laryngitis

My 5yr old has laryngitis-I went to the chemist and got him some throat lollies and he gave me another antibiotic, he came off antibiotics about 2 weeks ago, is this a good thing for him

No this is not the correct treatment.Laryngitis in children is almost always caused by a virus infection which does not respond to treatment with antibiotics.The throat lollies are a good idea. Laryngitis usually clears up fairly quickly usually after two or three days.
