Q.

language development

My LO is now 20 months. She talks a lot but only only her own language which is not words but the sounds - she understands everything, but say only about 10 proper words. Is this reason for concern? as I read that they have a vocabulary of around 200 words this age?

Your little girl is talking although she still seems to be babbling quite a bit.You need to be sure that her hearing is normal. If she has had a problem with ear infections in the past or there is any concern about her hearing she can be tested. If you are sure that she can hear well then she will start talking without the need for any therapy. If she is still not talking at 2 and a half years to 3 years it would be best to see a speech therapist.
