Q.

Kruger National Park

Good day

We are planning a camping trip to the KNP in June this year and my toddler will then have just turned 3 years old.

Is it safe for us to plan a holiday there with a 3 year old and what precaution should we take?

Thanks

The WHO recommends that children under 8 years of age not be taken into malarial area unless absolutely necessary.Having said this, the risk of malaria is lower in June than in the period from October to May. You will need full anti-mosquito measures including if possible sleeping under special mosquito proof nets. You can use Malanil Paediatric tablets as a preventer against malaria for your son. Speak to your pharmacist about this.
