Q.

Jelly Substance in Stool

My baby is now 6 months and I noticed a jelly substance in his stool yesterday. Should I be concerned and what is the cause?

Paediatrician

Sometimes this may be a sign of a kind of gastro infection. If you notice this mucous in your baby's stool again, keep a sample of his stool and put it in a small sterile bottle. Ask your paediatrician to see your baby and take the specimen along so that it can be sent to the laboratory for testing.
