Itchy Penis

Hi Doc

A while ago I posted regarding my 6y old sons persistant itchy penis and that none of the recommended ointments worked. You suggested that we see a urologist. I took my son to our pead today - to get a referral to a urologist and he confirmed your diagnoses. He said it is not an infection - but rather an irriation and said his foreshin attaches very high and he said it seems after everything else we have tried a circumcision will be all that will help. I am seeing the urologist on the 22 May.

Can you tell me if the recovery is very painful? And how long will the recovery be?

Thank you for your spot on advise.

Thanks a lot, it is a pleasure. Your son will benefit from a circumcision as there is a genuine medical reason for this operation.Recovery is usually very rapid and there is usually very little if any pain.
