Q.

Itchy Eyes

Hi Doc,

My 2 year old son is always rubbing his eyes, especially at night or when he wakes up. I gave him Allergex but nothing changed so asked his paed at one of his follow up visits and she prescribed Deselex. There seemed to be an improvement and stopped, but its starting again, What must I do?

Thank you

Your son has an allergic eye problem known as allergic conjunctivitis. He should be tested for allergies to find out what is causing his eye allergy.Deselex is a good and safe antihistamine and you can continue to use it during the season when your son's eyes are most itchy. He may need anti-allergic eye drops in addition to the Deselex.
