Q.

is stilpane safe in children with asthma?

My son was diagnosed with asthma and I understand that there are medicines that are not safe to use for him. His doctor has told me that i can use Stilpane, another one told that I shouldn''t. Also, other than Panado, which other paracetamol can I use for him?

Please help.

Thanks.

You should definitely not use Stilpane if your son has asthma. Stilpane contains codeine which may worsen his asthma. it also contains an old fashioned antihistamine which should not be used in children with asthma. Only use Paracetamol if you need a medicine for pain and fever for your son. This means that you can give him Panado or Calpol.
