Q.

Is my 5yr old daughter overweight/obese?

My daughter turned 5 in September. I''ve noticed that her tummy has become " dimply"  and " chubby"  and don''t want her to be mocked at school. She is 1.24m tall and weighs 30kg. I would like some advice on nutrition at this age. Would I need to put her on a diet?

Your daughter is exceptionally tall, far above the average for her age. Her weight is in keeping with her height. If I did not know her height I would have been concerned as the average weight for a 5 year old girl is 17kg. She does not need to be on any diet, but make sure that she eats healthy foods.
