Q.

Immune boosters or protectors???

Good day, my son (22months) has just started daycare. We introduced a well known immune booster, but jus recently heard that immune boosters are not good for kids under 7yrs old and we should rather use immune protectors.Could you please shed some light on this...

There is very little difference if any between immune boosters and protectors and they are are probably the same thing. Most supplements given to children enhance the child's immunity and by doing so protect the child against infections. Modern children are immunised early in life to a wide variety of previously serious illnesses of childhood. Probiotics are regarded as immune boosters and work by keeping the immune system stimulated and ready to defend the body against infection.Other immune boosters are usually combination products such as Creche Guard which have multilple good effects in enhancing immunity and protecting the child against viral infections in particular. It is impossible to provide complete protection but these immune boosters do seem to help many children.
