Q.

IgE

Hi Doctor, please can you shed some light on IgE and what it means if my sons count was 6 and the normal range is 0 - 4.

IgE is one of several important antibodies in the body. IgE antibody is raised in allergic children especially in children with eczema or asthma. A count of 6 is still rather low [although this does depend on your child's age] and probably means that your child only has a slight tendency to be allergic.
