Q.

Hungry toddler

My 16 month old daughter has an enormous appetite and will eat a bowl of food i.e. chicken, rice &  veg followed by fruit and yoghut and an hour later will be hungry again! I end up giving her Pronutro before she goes to bed so that she sleeps, otherwise she shouts until we feed her!

Is this normal? Is it ok to give her Pronutro so often?

Thanks,
Carol

It is a pity that you did not include your baby daughter's weight as it would help to know if she is overweight or not. It is unusual for a little girl of this age to have such an excellent appetite to the extent that she is always hungry. It would be a good idea to ask your doctor to test her urine just to be sure that she does not have any health problem such a diabetes.
Once you have had her urine tested and if the test is normal then please write to our Dietdoc on Health24 and ask her this excellent question, but please include your daughter's weight as well.
