Q.

Human bite?

Dr my son has been bitten by a friend last Tuesday on his finger...The wound is 1cm big. I' ve been treating it with Bactroban and a plaster. It' s still sore and a little bit red with pust in the middle. He had a tetanus injection on 18 months old. How serious is a human bite? Do I need to take him to a dr? What' s the protocol of treating/handeling a human bite?

Human bites can be very dangerous with the main problem being unusual infections at the site of the bite. Tetanus is not a problem as your son has been immunised but other infections are highly possible. Despite you treating the wound well and using an antibiotic ointment the wound has become infected. It is necesssary to take him to see a doctor.
