Q.

How to wean night bottle

Hi Professor,

Do you have any tips for weaning the night bottle? My son is 1year 9 months and wakes regularly for a drink. It is still hot here in the north of the country. Last night, I left a bottle in his bed, half milk and half water, but by morning it had curdled. Can I give a very weak fruit juice, or is that bad for his teeth? I have tried Rooibos tea and plain water, but to no avail.

I cannot leave him to cry as he shares a room with his 4 year old brother.

Any tips would be appreciated.

This is rather difficult to answer as you have already tried to dilute your little son's feeds at night.Perhaps one of our regular forum members will have some good advice for you to follow. Otherwise look on Google for some good ideas.

I have last months stopped mine. I just cut the teat of the dummy, little by litlte, he or she will eventually give up because of the pressure of the milk.I actually tried it after an advice from Purple and Prof. GOOD LUCK

wow, that''s a tough situation. My advice would have been to try the cry-it-out method and to go cold turkey - but he''s sharing a room with his little brother, so that''s a really tough one!!! I suggest you post your question to our Parenting Forum here on this site, there are lots of mommies with very helpful advice, perhaps you might just come right there.
