Q.

How much formula per day?

Dear Prof
My twins are now 5 months old (23 weeks, corrected age 17 weeks), they weigh 6.1 and 6.2 kgs (birth weights 1.85 and 2.2kg at 34 weeks). I was told they need 150 to 180ml/kg/day of formula, but they never come near that amount, although they are offered 900ml pre day. They average around 750 to 800ml per day. Do they really need that much?

120ml to 140ml per kilogram per day is sufficient. In fact your babies are taking the correct amount.
