Q.

How much formula Milk

Hi My baby is now two weeks ld and weights 3.5 kg's, she is on NAN, please could you guve me a guideline on how much milk she must get, and within how many hours, from birth to about 6 months.

Your baby's weight is on the average for her age. She is being formula fed, so she needs 6 bottles of formula per day. The usual amount she needs is 160ml per kilogram weight per day [roughly 600 to 700ml per day, getting up to 800ml per day at 2 months]From 3 to 6 months she will still have the same fluid requirements and should take about 1050ml per day.As long as your baby is gaining weight well and is thriving and content there is no need for concern if she is taking a bit less than the amounts listed above.
