Q.

Holiday

Good Morning,

We are going for a holiday next in Mpumalanga-Hoedspruit and I heard it' s very HOT that side, so we taking the kids along and the' re 8months and 2yrs.

Can they get sick from the hot weather ?
What can we give them to prevent any sickness ?
Is it a good idea to take them along ( the is a lot of creepy crawlies as well) ?

You will be going to an area where there is a risk of malaria. Although there are new anti-malarial medicines for young children these cannot be used for your baby. You will all need to sleep under mosquito nets at night and take full anti-mosquito precautions as well. Your children will need extra fuids especially water if it is very hot.
