My son of 21 months woke up yesterday morning with a hoarse voice. It wasn' t so bad at first but later it got bad where he didn' t want to talk. However this is not at all affecting him he is still a happy baby playing  dancing an d eating and drinking well. Although there is a slight cough.

Your son appears to have a viral infection of his larynx also known as the voice box which is called croup. He does not appear to be at all distressed. As long as he can eat well and drink fluids and is able to sleep he should get over this illness by himself. It will help him to use a humidifier in his room until he is over this illness.
