Q.

Helpless mother

I have a eight year old daughter who is so disobidient this days in such a way that I hit her regulary now. Its like she is mad now you tell her to do this but she will do the opposite, I correct her politely and warn her that I will hit her next time but she will do exactly the wrong thing within even 48hrs. My problem is when she was still a baby up to 7 years she was so obidient even people were suprised about such an obidient child. I use to be so proud of her. Please Help, I dont want to kill her.

You do appear to be quite desperate about your daughter's disobedience.By hitting her you will only increase the problem and you may even do her and yourself considerable harm. Your daughter appears to have developed a fairly common psychological problem known as ODD which stands for Oppositional Defiant Disorder. You can read more about this problem if your enter 'ODD' on Google. Your daughter should be seen by a child psychologist as soon as possible.

You should phone FAMSA for some help in learning to discipline appropriately.

Clearly hitting her is not working as it isn''t solving the problem.
