Q.

Heavy cold &  teething

Okay, so no sleep for the past week and I' m at my wits end, Please help me.

My 5 and 1/2 month old son is teething and has a heavy cold as well. He wakes up every hour screaming! He has a bad wet cough and running noseI know that the cold has nothing to do with the teething but really need help!!!!

I have taken him to the doctor twice! First time he presribed Infans Tussi with Salex, yesterday I took him back, he then gave me alcophyllex and told me to use the Salex! His had this for the past week already! Also I' ve been using Ashton and Parsons and/or TeeGel on his gums but it' s not working.

WHAT DO I DO????

Please help.... :-)

There are 2 main reasons for your baby not sleeping, firstly his very blocked nose due to his bad cold and secondly his teething problem. Your doctor is right to advise you to use Salex to clear his nose. You must use this regularly every day at least twice a day to clear his nose. I am not happy about you giving your baby the Alcophyllex which contains Theophylline and will keep your baby awake and make him very unhappy. So stop this medicine immediately. Try Pansoral gel on his gums and give him the correct dose of Panado Infant drops if he seems to be in pain.
