Q.

Headache in 3 year old

Hi there,

My daughter will be 3 at the end of the month and she is complaining about headaches. It' ll last for about 30 minutes and is usually in the mornings. When should I worry about headaches in a child. She' s otherwise happy and healthy.

Thanks,

Liz

Paediatrician

You should always be worried about headaches in a young child especially as your daughter is so clear about her complaint of having a headache. There are many possible causes of headache in children ranging from minor causes to conditions which are serious so she must be seen by a paediatrician. You need to have a clear diagnosis of the cause of her headache.
