Q.

Hand injury

My 3 year old son fell over his hand on Saturday 26th September. The X-Rays shows that it was not broken but it looks like it is swollen on the elbow. The doctor advised us to give him pain medication. Is there anything else we can do? He is not using the hand at all.

Your son could well have a fracture of his elbow. The Xrays done so far may have been of his hand and not included his elbow. A fracture could have beeen missed. As fractures of the elbow in children may lead to complications it is essential for your son to be checked again ASAP.
