Hair not growing

Please help! My grand daughter turned four in January and still has baby hair! It has grown slightly - enough to make a tiny pony on top but it is just strange it will not grow! She eats healthy foods and has no other problems - normal four year old. Any suggestions???????

This problem may simply be a familial condition. However, there are several conditions seen in young children such as low thyroid [hypothyroidism], zinc deficiency, biotin deficiency and problems with copper metabolism which need to be excluded. Please ask her paediatrician to see her.
