growth on 3 year old' s eye

My almost 3 year old has a growth on her eye for almost for 2 months. Initially I thought it was a stye &  it would go away, I' ve used stye ointment from chemist for a week, didn' t help, took her to doc &  he put her on antibiotic for week , he said it wasn' t a stye, it was a blocked tear duct. antibiotic didn' t help, used the hot cloth &  olive oil remedy for week, took her back to doc after that week treatment didn' t help &  he put her on a stronger antibiotic &  more ointment, that didn' t help, i phoned him &  he said he will put her on another course of antibiotic after a weeks rest/use of just ointment. I' m not too thrilled about putting her on a 3rd antibiotic, will this not mess with her system? Doc said wants to leave surgery as last option, its'  not pusy or anything. please help, what other remedy can i try in order not for her to go onto another antibiotic? thanks candice

What is needed here is a proper diagnosis. This is not a stye as it would have cleared up with the first antibiotic course. It may be a viral infection called molluscum or may be a cyst which is called a meibomium cyst. Your child must be seen by an eye specialist.
