Q.

Growing pains

HI Doc,

My son, 3.5, has been complaining of knee pains for a long time now. It occurs at least 2/3 times a week. Sometimes its so bad, like last night, he would cry, and only panado would help, after massaging him with Arnica.
Is this normal at this age? And else could I use to ease the pain?

A mum remarked at how tall he is, and I wonder if this may have anything to do with it.

It is almost certain that your son has true 'growing pains'. Make sure that he does not have any actual swelling or redness of his knees. If his knees appear normal then he has growing pains. The correct treatment is Panado when he has any pain.
