Growing pains

Hi Docter,

Tell me, is there really something like " growing pains" ?

My daughter is almost 5 now, and for the last two years every now and agin she is in serious pain, specially at night, she wakes up crying, and when asked where the pain is, she says that it is in her legs.

Is she not maby just hurting herself at creche, they are all hooligans, and I suspect she has a couple of knocks there.

I usually just give her a spoon of Panado, which calms her down and she goes back to sleep.

Your help, as always, is much appreciated.

There is indeed a condition called growing pains which is more common in girls and usually starts at around 3 years of age.You need to be sure that there is no obvious redness or swelling of any of her joints where she is complaining of pain. This condition usually disappears by itself. Panado is a safe way of relieving her pain.
