Q.

Gross Motor Delay 12 months

My son was born at 32 weeks. He is 1 year old and two weeks and is unable to sit up on his own. He does not " gaurd"  when he falls over. He has no desire to crawl either. Should I take him to a specialis? I have received so much conflicting advice that I dont know what to do...Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Paediatrician

Your baby son was born 2 months prematurely. When checking his milestones one has to bear this in mind. In spite of this your baby is indeed well behind with his milestones and cannot sit as yet.He must definitely be assessed by a paediatrician particularly a paediatric neurologist if possible.
