Good News

Hi there, I phoned my baby girls pediatrician last week to ask about her severe constipation he told me to give her the laxette 5ml’ s 3 times a day with prune juice and every second day glycerin suppository and see if it works.
We have been giving her laxette 3 times a day, together with the prune juice and she has had a bowl movement almost every day since last week which is a huge relieve for us. No need for suppository.
How should I cut back on the prune juice and laxette as I don’ t just want to stop it in case the constipation comes back.
Should I just give laxette in the morning and some prune juice in the evening?

She is now 6 months old and i am giving her maize cereal in the morning some pear purity for lunch and a vegetable for dinner, she is not really fond of the vegetables any advice on how to approach this?

Despite the success of the Laxette in helping with your baby's constipation, she is on a dose more suitable for children over 6 years of age or even for adults. You should not use this high dose for more than 3 days. After 3 days give your baby a maximum dose of 5ml once daily in the morning and the prune juice in the evening. You still need to know why she is so constipated. It would help to keep her on a special formula for constipated babies.Give her a rice cereal in the morning. The best vegetables to start with are butternut, pumpkin or sweet potato.
