GETTING MY LB OFF THE PACIFIER-DESPERATE

HI. MY SON IS TWO YEARS AND IS TOTALLY RELIANT ON HIS PACIFIER FOR SLEEPING....HE CANT GO TO SLEEP WITHOUT IT AND WHEN HE WAKES AT NIGHT HE HAS TO HAVE IT OR HE CANT GO BACK TO SLEEP..... PLEASE HELP....WAT CAN I DO TO GET HIM OFF THIS.....

Do not be too concerned about this. Most children simply give up their dummies by themselves without any help from the parents.You will find some further advice on this Forum or on Google but it is unlikely that you will need to do anything.

Hi Sunshine,

Plse relax - he will go off it when he is ready. At this stage it is his comfort - he needs it. When he is ready, you will notice. My son use to suck his hand (never wanted a dummy), so bad that it went raw and bled.... I was histerical about it, his pead just said - relax, he will grow out of it... and HE DID!!

He won' t use a pacifier when he' s going to school, partying with his 18yr old mates or getting married...
