Gastric reflux in infants

hi, i have a 9 week old who seems to be having reflux. although he is not vomitting as much he does have some vomiiting. he is very restless, does not settle after feeds, and i dont remember the last time he slept for over an hour and a half. he also seems to suck for comfort. he also growls and complains a lot . he also tends to miss his loo sessions for up to four days, although his stools are still soft. im breastfeeding but supplementing with formula. other than that he is thriving, he was 4.4kg at his 6weeks check-up (2.7 at birth). i have an appointment with a paed next week, but what can i do in the mean time, and is there any information i should ask the doc about.

You give an excellent description of your bay's symptoms which strongly suggest that he does have acid reflux. The good newes is that he is gaining weight well so he would do well on a medicine that reduces his stomach acid.In the meantime while you are waiting to see your doctor, it is important to try to keep your baby upright during feeds and for about 20 minutes after a feed.
