Fussy Eater

Hi Doc!

My baby is 9months old &  such a fussy eater. She is brestfed &  is quite happy to only eat her tasteless rice cereal.

I''ve tried veges, fruit &  even the purity jars but to no avail. There are days when she''ll eat a tiny bit of fruit or veges. I''ve also tried changing her cereal but she refuses to eat anything else. I get so frustated as she really needs to have food from the food groups. I also worry that she''s not picking up enough weight.

I really don''t know how to deal with this. Plzzzzzzzzz help, I''m soooo worried about her fussy eating. Is it normal for babys to behave this way?

You have not given your baby's weight so it is not possible to see if there is a problem with her weight gain or not. Many babies are indeed fussy eaters at this age. Your little baby is being breastfed so she seems to be quite happy with this plus a little rice cereal. Obviously you would like to increase the variety of foods she is eating but she is not willing to co-operate yet. Have patience with her and try to identify more foods that she will eat.Look on for advice about the foods she should be eating now.
