Formula Milk

My 9 month old has been exclusively breastfeeding and I have recently tried to introduce him to formula without success. I am desperately trying to give him formula because I no longer produce enough milk for him and I am working full-time. He also refuses to eat baby cereal, &  I have ended up giving him porridge and maltabela which he eats sometimes. He weighs 8.8kg and I am really concerned about his development.

Your baby son has done well as far as his weight is concerned. His weight is exactly on the average for his age.I hope that you get advice from our regular forum members who may have experienced this problem. It would be a good idea to try him on a formula such as NAN Pelargon which has a yoghurt-like taste that many babies really like.If this does not help and you do not get more advice on this forum then try writing in to our Breastfeeding forum or our Parenting section on Health24.

Hi Eva,

I am very interested in what the dr has to say since I am in the same boat with my 10 mnth old. She is also exlusively breastfed and she hates bottles and formula. I have to wean her also but what do you do if they refuse to take any formula? Goodluck, just wanted to let you know that you are not alone...
