formula change

Hi there
My lb is 9 weeks old. He' s been mostly breastfed for the first 6 or 7 weeks with one or two Nan 1 supp' s, but he' s always suffered with his tummy. It rumbles frequently &  he cries pulling his knees toward his chest. The Paed advised Nan (LF) or Pelargun which we' ve tried both &  it only made it worse by constipating him. He' s now on S26 (1) &  doesn' t breast feed much anymore. He seemed to be doing a little better until after a week &  yesterday afternoon he looked to be in discomfort again. Also, he doesn' t drink the entire feed, fusses &  shakes his head until we remove the bottle. I' m worried he might not be getting the required nutrition. Please help - we' re using Telament drops, give him a dose of gripe water every now &  then &  have even used Buscopan. We' ve been advised to try Novelac. Should we do this. I' m tired of trying so many things without much luck &  afraid to introduce another formula to him.

There are 2 possibilities here. Firstly and most likely your son has lactose intolerance. The other possibility is a milk allergy. The simplest way to deal with both possibilities would be to try him on a soya formula such as Isomil1. Please let me know if he improves or if his problems continue.

My 7 week sold sun, drinks Nan1, he seems very uncomfortable, lots of noises, brings up little milk long time after feed &  burping every now &  again. He seems very hungry &  criep after 3 hours, is he overfed or does he need something more such as Lactogen or is he Lactose Intolerant? He also has stools that' s greyish cement/putty like and lots which is sometimes watery &  only every 2-3 days. He stay awake for almost 4-5 hours at times due to uncomfortness, what can we do? His weight gain is fine, after being a very slow drinker at first &  changed to lattex teats and he was 4.2kg at 6 weeks.
