Fluid in ear

My baby is almost 7mnts old, and a sinus sufferer. He was at the doctor a week ago, and other than regular sinus, all was well. This is being treated with allergex and a nasal spray. He is fine during the day, but cries at night and tugs at ears. For the past 2 days, there has been a pus-like fluid in the ear. He is calm and relaxed when I clean the ear, but gets niggly when I' m done. He doesn' t cry alot, and if it wasn' t for the fluid in ears, I would not think anything is wrong. What could cause this and should I take him back to doctor?

You should definitely take your baby back to the doctor. It is possible that both his ears are dicharging as a result of burst eardrums.By the way babies of 6 months do not have sinuses so your baby cannot have sinusitis.Ask your doctor for a correct diagnosis. I hope that your baby is not being treated on a cortisone spray as it will not help him and is not necessary. Also Allergex is no longer recommended in babies under 2 years. It is an old fashioned antihistamine which causes sedation.
