Fluid coming out of his ear

Hi Doc,
My sonn is 11 months old. He had Grommets inserted almost 3 months ago. Today aftre his midday nap, i noticed fluid coming out of his right ear(clear in color). He is not crying or anything. He''s had a cold the past week(runny nose). He still plays and eats like normal. Do i have to take him to the doctor? We still have ear drops that we got after his grommets insertion.

I dont know if this information will help: We flew for the first time on the 29th Jun, not sure if tis have anything to do with anything.
Thank you Doc
Regards

The fluid you have noticed coming out of your baby son's right ear is draining through the grommet tube that has been placed in his eardrum. The fluid does not appear to be infected,so the grommet is just doing its job of draining fluid from behind your son's ear drum. Keep his ear as dry as possible by regular mopping of the fluid with an ear bud. Do not push the ear bud tip too far into his ear. The recent flying trip has definitely set off this problem by altering the pressures in your baby's ears.
