Hi Doc
I am a bit worried, my 12,5 months old boy has a cold,i think, he coughs and has a runny/blocked nose which makes his breathing a mission. I use saline drops to unblock the nose. His temp was also high last night. He sometimes cries for no reason. I gave him Calpol. But i am worried it might be swine flu, should i take him to the paed? Oh, he had his 12 months vaccinations last monday, could this be the course? Thank you in advance

Your baby certainly has a viral infection. The most likely cause is the RSV virus and not Swine flu. Just keep his nose clear as best as you can with the saline nose drops. Give him Calpol or Panado for fever. Only take him to see a doctor if he has any difficultly with breathing or is restless or you remain concerned about him.
