Q.

Flu Vaccine

Hi Doc, Do you recommend the flu vaccine for a 2 year old?? She is going for her 2 year injection next week and I would like to know if I should give her the flu vaccine too at the same time. The clinic recommend it and I see they'  ve got it at my Paed as well. She'  s supposed to get 2 doses (4 weeks apart), because she'  s 2 years old. Is there any side affects and did any of your children benefit from it? She'  s in a creche and I give her Scotts Emulsin in the morning, but if there'  s more I can do to "  protect"  her from getting sick this winter I would. Let me know please.

I have already got the vaccine but when I wanted to have it done last week they cant do it because she has a runny nose which she just about permanently has and that is why I want her to do this. When will I know when to take her?

I certainly do recommend the flu vaccine for your 2 year old. She will benefit and there are few if any side effects. sometimes a slight fever may occur for about 48 hours after the immunisation.Keep her nose clear by using Salex nose drops twice a day.

This is weird. This was my question posted last week. And now Chanelle posted it today? And she used my question. I still don' t have an answer for this though.
