Flu Vac or not?

Hi Doc,

I am been reading the questions and comments on the forum and i see that you have recommended to a few parents whose kids are in creche that they get the flu vac?Should i take my daughter for the flu vac (she is 19 months)? My gp has always told me that the flu vacs actually do more good then harm in protecting us from the flu is this the case? And also if you think that it is a good idea to get the vac do you know where i can get them from as i believe there is a bad flu vac shortage this year and there wont be anymore more available.

Thank you very much for the time you take to answer all our questions it is really greatly appreciated!

You are welcome. If your daughter is at a daycare she will benefit from having the flu vaccine. There is a real problem with supplies of the vaccine. Ask your GP if he/she has any stock or possibly your pharmacy may be giving the vaccinations.
