Q.

Flouride supplement - side effects??

Ive been giving my son 3 drops of zymaflor about three times a week at night before bed, since he was about 9months old because his pediatrician said I should do that until he is three years old, in fact he said I must give it every night but I dont manage. I try not to skip too often bevause although we' ve taught him to brush, hedoesnt brush properly and doesnt want us to help him either and I dont want his teeth to be without any protection, so I tryto givethe zymaflor as doctor prescribed. He is now 19 months old and has a mouth full of perfect white teeth. Ive just read something that says fluoride supplements are bad for and has side effects in children, is this true? Because the pediatrcian didnt say anything of the kind. Should I be concerned?

Flouride supplements are recommended to prevent dental decay. Your child is on a low dose of flouride given 3 times per week so it is quite safe.
