Q.

Flat feet

Hi,

My son is 4 years old and has flat feet, is it something we should worry about or must we just leave it if it causes no discomfort for him. He is very active so it doesn''t seem to impede his activities.

Thanks

Children's feet continue to develop to about age 7 years so there is a chance that your son's flat feet will correct themselves. The problem is that by no means all children's flat feet correct themselves. Flat feet put an extra strain on the knees. It is always better to treat this problem. Get arch supports for your son's shoes and see that he only wears 'good shoes' with built in arch supports.
