Q.

Fissures

Hi Doc

I would like to know what causes fissures in babies, my lo is 10 months old and is not constipated but has these little tears around his anus and seems to get nappy rash quite easily.
What can one use to ease the pain and promote healing?

Thanks

This is usually due to constipation in babies. Sometimes the area around the anus can become very red and irritated if a baby is drinking fruit juice.Try Bepanthen nappy cream and see if this helps otherwise try Fissan Paste.
