Fish Allergy

I need your help please. Last night we had haddock for supper and i gave Paige (2 years) a piece of the fish, a few minutes later she started complaining that her eyes were itching and within minutes her eyes swell up so badly, almost looked like she didn'  t have a space between her eyes .... i then gave her some allergex and kept a cold washrag on her face, she seemed to have calmed down after a while and didn'  t complain of the itch anymore but her face looked really bad. the swelling has gone down a bit this morning but it'  s still slightly there.

I'  m so lost not sure what to do, the doc says i should just keep her on the allegex, but surely there must be another solution.
Please help this panic strickend mom

Your daughter has had a definite allergic reaction to one kind of fish. You treated her correctly but if she eats haddock again she may have a worse and more dangerous reaction called anaphylaxis. In addition you need to know if she is allergic to all kinds of fish or just to haddock. She must be seen by a paediatric allergist, there are experts in all the main centres in SA. She requires careful testing and should be provided with an emergency treatment kit.
