Q.

First Molar teeth

Dear Paed

My youngest started teething with his molars in Feb when he was 13 months old. The gums were blue and swollen as noted by his paed. Now, at 16 months, the gums are still swollen, but no molar has erupted yet? Is this normal? in the mean time al 4 his canine''s have erupted, so his front teeth are now all out.

PS he slept through last night after some pain meds at 21h30.

Yes this can happen and some children really have a difficult time before their molar teeeth come through. It does seem that your son's molar teeth are ready to come through but are just taking a long time to do so.
