Finding the right follow on formula

Hi Doc

Thanks for all the valuable advice you give us stressed out moms!

My son is 13 months old and weighs 11kgs (he is tall for his age though and all docs say his weight is on track)

He eats solids and enjoys his Purity Fortris juice and water but I am battling to find a follow on formula for him.

He was on Novalac AR Digest but started to refuse it when he started solids (I think it made him feel too full)

Then we put him on Nido 1+ which he enjoyed but it gave him a runny tummy and when it had not cleared up after 20 days we switched to Soya.

We started on Isomil 3 a week ago, the runs stopped but he immediately got a horrible weeping rash and started having reflux again so I think he may be allergic.

What are my other options for a follow on formula for him? Does he heed a hypoallergenic formula or a Lactose free (non soya) formula?

Thank you. This is a good question. Your son did well on the anti-reflux formula so it is strange that he could not tolerate the Nido as the AR formula is not lactose free. Also if he is allergic to cow's milk he would not have been able to tolerate the Novavalc AR.He certainly seems to be allergic to soya so that is not an option. It is difficult to be sure about the way forward but it would be worth trying a low allergy formula as a follow on.
