Q.

Feeding Problem

My baby is 2mths old. He was born weighing 2.75kg and is now 4.4kgs. He will only drink 25ml to 50ml every 3hrs, including night feeds. He refuses to drink any more. I believe that he needs to be drinking about 100ml at his weight. What can I do to improve his intake.

Paediatrician

Your baby son's weight was below the average at birth and he has continued to be below average for his weight at this stage. He needs to take in about 600ml of milk per day which he does not appear to be taking. It would be best to ask your paediatrician to see him just to be sure that there is no obvious cause for his very poor milk intake.
