Feeding Problem 17mnth old

Morning,

My 17month old little girl is still not eating solids. I started her on yoghurt and purity 1st foods fruit when she was 4 months old and she loved it.
When I tried introducing 2nd foods and anything with lumps or texture she would find the lump and spit it out, so as long as it was smooth she would be fine.
She still drinks 3 to 4 bottles of formula (Isomil 3) a day so she is a healthy weight (10.6kg) but no matter what food I try to give her she plays with it, puts it in her mouth stores it in her cheeks and then will spit it all out.
She still only eats yoghurt during the day, drinking wise she loves rooibos tea, water and juice.
All other development has been good, she has about 12 teeth now, started walking at 11mnths.

Is she just fussy or is there something else going on?

Many thanks
Robyn

This is a very common 'problem' with children of this age. Your daughter wants her food to be very well mashed or pureed still. Go along with it for a while. She is happy and healthy. She must join the family at all meals. After a while start trying to introduce one slighter coarser food at a time. With time she will start eating all sorts of food but it may take a while for that to happen.
