My 5 year old son seem to be afraid of thunderstorm and lightning these days. he was never like this. He becomes so afraid in such a way that he wants to be under the blankets even if it''s during the day. is it normal or there could be something that triggered this? he goes to creche

This is a very common fear indeed. You need to reassure your son that you are there for him and no harm will come to him when he is inside the house.

I''ve got 2 boys, aged 3 and 7 yr....My oldest is also very afraid of thunderstorms. I know that around 5yr he started with al kinds of fears....At this age they are getting old enough to understand the consiquenses of stuff. Maybe he watched something on Discovery chanel or Scooby doo that had a big thunderstorm in it...This is sometimes enough to trigger the fear! And sorry to say: But at this age the little boys imagination goes wild and they tell old kinds of nonsence stories to each other at school!
