Q.

Eye infections

Hi dr
Are there any safe over the counter eye drops that I can put in my 18 month old daughter''s eyes for conjunctivitis/general eye infections? Or is it only Tobrex (with a script)? It seems to be going around quite a lot at the day care (which she has luckily escaped so far). It breaks my heart to have to pay R300 for a consultation just to get a script.
Thanks so much!
E.

You can ask your pharmacist for Chloramphenicol eye drops or similar antibacterial eye drops.
