Q.

Eye and hands

Dear Doc

My baby is 11 weeks old. She usually sleeps with her 1 eye slightly open - is this cause for concern? Why does she not close her left eye?

Also, she usually keeps both her hands " closed" . At what age should she stop closing her hands like this?

Many thanks
STM

Paediatrician

It is still normal for your baby to be clenching her fists now but if this persists beyond 4 months please ask your paediatrician to see her. Likewise many babies sleep with one eyelid slightly open. If this also persists beyond 4 months please ask your paediatrician just to have a look at her.
