Q.

Eye allergy

Morning adoctor

Hope you are doing well today.

My son has a runny tummy from teething. I saw this morning that another toothie appeared. I think its a molar (oogtand).

My question now is - since yesterday morning his eyes are red, a bit swollen and theres "  sleep"  in his eyes the whole time. I rub out that sleepy stuff and minutes later its there again. The pharmacy gave us an ointment (Chlorcol) and said its an allergy. What allergy? Cant this maybe be part of the teething process?

My son never had any major problems when teething (runny nose and didn' t sleep well), but lately I just dont know anymore.

He must go for his 15 month injection this week (he turned 15 months yesterday), but if you think this is more serious I'  ll take him earlier.

Thanking you in advance.

Thank you. Your baby's symptoms are not due to teething. He seems to have an eye infection which should respond to the Chlorcol eye ointment [which is an antibiotic and is not used for allergies.]If his runny tummy worsens you should give him an electrolyte solution to drink such as Rehidrat. Give him frequent sips. If he starts to vomit or you are worried about him take him to see your doctor.
