Q.

Eruption cyst

Hi Dr,

My 16m old daughter has what appears to be an eruption cyst on her gums, above where her molars will appear. It''s been there for probably a week and a half already. Can you please give me more information on this, is it painful, and when would be the best time to take her to the dr...

Thanks

These eruption cysts are very common when babies are teething. They are not painful as such. The cyst will disappear when your little daughter's molar tooth comes through.
